Associated
Design Partners Inc provided the engineering of the
exterior aluminum curtain wall framing for the 2-story
Common Space and attached skywalk at the USM Community
Education Center. Custom connections exposed to the
interior space were designed to meet stringent aesthetic
requirements.
Due to aggressive schedule requirements,
the foundation of this 45000 sf commercial warehouse
was fast tracked and the design completed in 3 weeks.
Engineering considerations included concrete retaining
walls, warehouse slab on grade, shallow footing design
to resist metal building gravity, up-lift, and horizontal
column loads.

Grand Victorian Hotel
Light Gauge Curtain Wall Engineering
The exterior walls of this 5-story
oceanfront hotel consisted of a combination of load
bearing and in-fill light gage steel wall framing.
Engineering of built-up light gage window jambs
and headers were designed to transfer a portion
of the gravity loads from the roof framing to the
supporting concrete foundations. Because of shipping
and erection logistics, the load-bearing jambs were
designed with specialty splices to allow for segmented
handling and assembly.
